i made it. my college life has officially begun! i've made my own meals for the last few days, i've unpacked and i'm in charge of my own life, it's my time to be as selfish as i need to be since college is all about my future. some things i've learned so far...
don't be quick to judge. this is hard... especially with roommates.
let your opinion be heard. don't let people walk all over you.
buy the cheep brands at the grocery store. they taste just as good...
mark all your stuff so that you know it's yours.
your nose hairs really can freeze in the cold.
speak up and be yourself. it helps when making friends.
do all the "new student" activities. you're only a new student once so you might as well, plus that is where you meet new people who can help you.
don't be afraid to ask for help. especially at BYUI... EVERYONE wants to help you.
when you roommate walks in all pissed, just let her have her moment and ignore her. don't get caught up in drama.
if you don't have it in your house, you won't eat it! i.e. cookies, chips, junk food...
go to bed early.
if your roommate likes to be in charge, ignore her. (sounds rude but she gets over things fast)
get your own opinion about classes, people, etc... don't let other people tell you what to think.
student wards are awkward. period.
i've only been here for two days and i've already grown so much. i now have a plan for my future and goals that i can meet to accomplish it. i start classes tomorrow and that's where the real test begins...
college here i come!
oh and one last thing... if boys come up to you at a dance talking in scottish accents, there is a good chance they are faking it... silly freshman boys.
